Playing video games is not just for fun anymore. Video gaming competitions are emerging as a way for top gamers to make a living, some taking home 6-figure salaries by playing games like WarCraft.
Last weekend, Seattle hosted the World Cyber Games, an international competition where the world’s best players compete for gaming glory and cash prizes. From ZDNet Technology News:
“The goal is to one day be recognized as on par with the Olympics or the World Cup,” said Michael Arzt, senior vice president with the World Cyber Games.
