Calling all educators who want to give their students a boost!
If you’re an educator, you spend part of the summer months reflecting over the past academic year. Some difficult questions often surface: How do I engage my students more? How do I help them concentrate better and remember more? How do I make my students into better learners in general? Lumos Labs is pioneering a free program that addresses some of these key issues, and we’d like to invite educators around to world to join and unlock their students’ full potential.
Lumosity’s Educational Access Program (LEAP) launched in 2009 and introduced cognitive training into the classroom. LEAP educators get 50 free 6-month subscriptions to use in their curriculum. In exchange for this grant, teachers contribute valuable research data that helps investigate the efficacy of Lumosity training in the classroom. By collaborating with Lumos Labs on this research initiative, both students and teachers can help improve future cognitive games and educational programs.
This past Spring semester, over 2800 students and educators from 140 schools used LEAP in their classrooms. These educators represented a range of subjects and grade-levels: from technology to psychology, young 3rd graders to high school freshman.
The results look extremely promising thus far. Many participants have already noted a real difference in students’ performance and engagement; one teacher described Lumosity as a learning tool that “students beg to do.” Several educators have already asked to participate again in the coming school year!
If you or an educator you know is interested in participating in LEAP, you can apply through this link. The deadline for the Fall 2012 Program is July 15th, and eduators will be notified of their acceptance by August 1st. Join hundreds of schools worldwide that rave about the remarkable benefits of LEAP!
