See More of the World with Eagle Eye

Every time we look around, we discover a world of detail – a world so full of detail that our daily lives depend upon the brain’s ability to efficiently absorb and process this information. Without this ability, we could not safely accomplish many of our daily tasks.

Driving, for example, requires us to simultaneously attend to the road, traffic, and any potential obstacles around us. While we often take it for granted, this ability to distribute our attention across the visual field largely determines whether or not we can avoid accidents before they happen.

As we age, our visual attention degrades due to brain changes. These changes make it harder for us to see objects near the periphery of our visual field. A scary thought, indeed, until we realize that proper training can improve this ability regardless of age.

Eagle Eye, one of our most popular games, accomplishes this by challenging you to identify a letter in the middle of the screen while simultaneously locating a bird presented in the periphery. As you improve, the exercise simultaneously moves the birds farther out and decreases the presentation time. This adaptive challenge stretches your attention, gradually enhancing the amount of information you can take in with a single glance. In one controlled trial, Lumosity users who played Birdwatching, the first version of Eagle Eye, saw improvements in divided visual attention of 20% or more on independent performance measures.

Eagle Eye, though, is not just effective — it’s also fun! Try it today and you’ll see why so many of our users flock to it.
