Tracking Your New Year's Resolution with Lumosity Insights

As we began 2017, our UX Director Abhi provided some tips for how you can best make and keep your New Year’s Resolutions in 2017. Abhi’s advice could be applied to any goal you may have for this year, Lumosity related or not.

For those of you with Lumosity-specific resolutions this year, though, we hope you’ll make use of our new Insights feature. Lumosity Insights draw upon data from 4 billion gameplays to provide subscribers with analyses of your individual cognitive patterns and comparisons to other users. As our CEO Steve Berkowitz explained when Insights launched, “Knowing your high score is valuable, but what’s even more valuable is the coach who sits down with you to help you analyze how you played the game so that you can do better next time. Our cognitive Insights aim to be the smart coach who has analyzed your gameplay across time and can offer you better input and direction each time you play.”

How can you use Insights to keep your New Year’s Resolution? Here are some ideas:

Keep it challenging

If your resolution doesn’t keep you stimulated and engaged, you’re likely to lose interest. So, to combat this, take a look at Your Game Strength Profile. This Insights report shows you your 5 strongest Lumosity games — and your weakest one, so you always have a challenging target to shoot for.

Establish a clear target

The more specific your goal, the easier it will be to measure your progress and enjoy small victories -- and small victories will keep you motivated! For instance, you might set a specific goal to improve your play on Ebb and Flow. With the Ebb and Flow: Your Speed and Accuracy report, you’ll get guidance on whether you ought to focus more on speed or accuracy to boost your scores.

Build in milestones

Another way to track small victories is with Your Monthly Gains and Drops Insight. With this report, you’ll be able to spot your biggest month-to-month game improvements at a glance.

We’re excited to give Lumosity members personalized tools to stay engaged and motivated -- not only now in January as we consider new beginnings, but also throughout 2017. Stay tuned for additional Insights and new features to keep your Lumosity training fresh.
