Studies on Lumosity
130+ peer-reviewed papers and counting
Lumosity's platform has been used in over 130 peer-reviewed research studies, spanning topics from cognitive training effectiveness to sleep, aging, and environmental health. These studies draw on de-identified data from millions of game plays to investigate how cognition works in the real world, at a scale that's impossible in a traditional lab.
In one landmark study, Hardy et al. (2015) conducted a large-scale randomized trial showing that comprehensive Lumosity training enhanced cognitive abilities across multiple domains. More recent work by Osman et al. (2025) examined real-world effectiveness of digital cognitive training in adults with ADHD. Researchers at institutions like Harvard, Stanford, and Johns Hopkins continue to use Lumosity data to push the boundaries of cognitive science.
